Extraordinary Fishing (1902)

Overview

Two anglers are quietly seated and get a bite. They both pull out the same fish. Each of them claims to be the owner of it which leads to a quarrel and in the struggle, both fall into the water. A third fisher comes on the scene and casts in his line. To his great astonishment, he pulls out the two men who are still fighting. He tries to separate them, but they resent his interference and throw him into the water. Filled with remorse, one of them jumps in after him and seeing neither of them reappear on the surface, the other also follows suit and is lucky enough to get them out, which results in a general reconciliation. A Pathé production that survives in the BFI collection.

Leans Traditional

Primary

The film is a purely observational, non-narrative actualité that documents women training for cycle races without explicit ideological framing or a discernible political thesis, leading to a neutral rating.

This early film from 1897 features traditional casting for its era, primarily depicting white individuals without any intentional race or gender swaps of roles. The narrative focuses on documenting women training for cycle races, presenting a neutral or positive framing of its subjects without engaging in critical portrayals of traditional identities or explicit DEI themes.

Secondary

This early silent film is a brief actualité showing women engaged in athletic training. There are no identifiable LGBTQ+ characters, themes, or narrative elements present in the film's content, resulting in no portrayal to evaluate.

This early silent film, depicting cyclists in a garden, does not contain any identifiable transsexual characters or themes. Its focus is on a simple, observational scene, predating the development of complex character narratives involving gender identity.

The movie does not contain any action or adventure elements.

This 1902 film depicts "Ladies Training for Cycle Races." As an original production with no prior source material, historical figures, or legacy characters, there is no established gender to be swapped from.

This 1902 film is a short, likely documentary-style piece depicting women cycling. There is no evidence of it being an adaptation of source material with established characters or a biopic of specific historical figures. Therefore, the concept of a race swap does not apply.
