This 2021 Lifetime-style TV movie reconstructs the real disappearance of Jennifer Dulos, a wealthy Connecticut mother of five whose bitter divorce and custody battle ended with her vanishing in May 2019. Her estranged husband claimed she staged the whole thing, a defense that did not land well with investigators or, eventually, the public. The film sits in the true-crime lane that now dominates streaming and cable, where domestic danger, marital breakdown, and a victimized woman drive the story. Most active signals are absent or low, so the label is modest. The case itself carries weight about power, control, and custody systems, but the film does not appear to push a strong ideological frame around those themes.
