Detailed Bias Analysis

Primary

The film centers on a single mother's personal challenges and resolutions through ingenuity and relationships, maintaining a balanced, apolitical focus on holiday warmth and family bonds.

Visible racial and LGBTQ+ diversity appears in supporting roles, with subtle gender equity themes through the protagonist's disguise and nepotism affecting a qualified female manager, though traditional identities receive neutral framing without strong critiques.

Secondary

A gay brother and his husband appear as supportive figures aiding the protagonist's disguise, integrated neutrally into the family dynamic. Their portrayal remains incidental, focusing on helpfulness without exploring or critiquing LGBTQ+ themes.

Cross-dressing central to the plot invokes trans tropes through bathroom humor and outing anxieties, treated as comedic hijinks without dignity or complexity. The bisexual love interest's acceptance offers minor positivity, but the overall framing degrades gender fluidity via outdated disguise comedy. No trans characters appear.

The film centers on a single mother's sacrifices to support her daughter, portraying parental devotion and family bonds positively amid modern challenges like financial strain and non-traditional work roles. This balanced depiction of resilience in a single-parent household without critiquing or idealizing traditional structures leads to a neutral assessment.

The movie does not contain any action or adventure elements.

My Secret Santa presents an original story without source material or legacy characters requiring gender swaps. The female protagonist's temporary disguise as Santa constitutes an in-plot gender disguise, excluded from the definition.

My Secret Santa presents original characters without established racial baselines from source material, adaptations, or history. Portrayals by the cast align with new creations, yielding no race swaps.
