Sunlight is a British road-trip comedy-drama about Jane, a woman who literally hides inside a monkey costume to escape a controlling partner and ends up fleeing across the country with Roy, a suicidal radio host, in an Airstream trailer. The Neutral label reflects a film that is fundamentally about personal escape and trauma rather than ideology. The family and relationship dynamics lean progressive in the sense that abusive households are clearly the villain, but the story frames this through individual resilience rather than social critique.
