Detailed Bias Analysis

Analyzing...
Center

Primary

The series leans right due to its central focus on national security and the celebration of individual intelligence agents as heroes protecting national interests, despite exploring the moral complexities and personal sacrifices involved.

The series features a visibly diverse cast, including a prominent non-white character in a significant role, without explicitly recasting traditionally white roles. Its narrative focuses on spy operations and character development, maintaining a neutral or positive framing of traditional identities without explicit DEI critiques.

Secondary

Covert Affairs features Lena Smith, a recurring lesbian CIA operative. Her LGBTQ+ identity is presented incidentally, as a normal part of her character, without being central to the plot or a source of significant positive or negative narrative emphasis. She is depicted with dignity and professionalism.

The show features Annie Walker, a highly trained CIA operative, who frequently engages in and wins close-quarters physical fights against multiple male opponents, demonstrating her combat skills and proficiency.

The television series 'Covert Affairs' does not feature any identifiable transsexual characters or themes throughout its run. Consequently, there is no portrayal to evaluate regarding transsexual identity, resulting in a 'N/A' rating for its net impact.

Covert Affairs is an original television series. Its characters were created for this production, meaning there is no prior source material or historical record from which their gender could have been swapped.

Covert Affairs is an original television series that premiered in 2010. It is not an adaptation of pre-existing source material, nor does it feature historical figures or legacy characters from prior installments. Therefore, no characters had an established race to be altered.
