Progressive

Primary

The film's central thesis explicitly promotes progressive ideology by celebrating Black culture, Black women, and Historically Black Colleges and Universities as an act of cultural reclamation and empowerment against historical marginalization.

The film 'Homecoming' explicitly centers on a Black artist and Black culture, showcasing a predominantly Black cast and crew. Its narrative is a powerful celebration of Black identity, female empowerment, and HBCU traditions, making DEI themes central to its core message.

Secondary

The series "Homecoming" features a prominent same-sex relationship between Alex and Audrey in its second season. Their relationship is depicted with dignity and complexity, serving as a significant emotional and motivational element for the characters. The show normalizes their queer identity, portraying their love as a natural part of their lives, and any challenges they face are external to their sexual orientation.
