Overview

Hyun-su and Soo-jin are newlyweds. Seemingly out of nowhere, he starts talking in his sleep. "Someone's inside." From that night on, whenever he falls asleep, he transforms into someone else with no recollection of what happened the night before. Soo-jin is overwhelmed with anxiety that he'd hurt her family while she sleeps and can barely sleep a wink because of this irrational fear. Despite sleep treatment, Hyun-su’s sleepwalking only intensifies, and she begins to feel that her unborn child may be in danger…

Detailed Bias Analysis

Analyzing...
Center

Primary

The film focuses on apolitical themes of psychological horror, marital strain, and personal desperation, exploring societal issues like mental health and cultural identity without explicitly promoting a specific political ideology or offering a politically charged solution.

The movie features a South Korean cast and director, offering cultural diversity and centering a female protagonist's perspective within a nuanced marital dynamic. While it addresses mental health themes, its engagement with broader equity and inclusion issues is subtle and thematic rather than explicitly central to the narrative.

Secondary

The movie *Sleep* (2023) does not feature any identifiable LGBTQ+ characters or themes within its narrative. The plot centers on a heterosexual couple's marital and psychological drama, focusing on a sleepwalking disorder and its impact on their family life, without any reference to queer identity or community.

Based on available information, the film *Sleep* (2023) does not contain explicit depictions of transsexual characters or themes. Therefore, there is no basis to evaluate its portrayal as positive, negative, or neutral regarding the trans community.

The movie does not contain any action or adventure elements.

The film "Sleep" (2023) is an original work with no pre-existing source material or historical basis for its characters. Therefore, no characters could have had their gender changed from a prior established canon.

The film "Sleep" (2023) is an original South Korean production with no prior source material or established characters. All characters were created for this film, making the concept of a "race swap" inapplicable as there is no pre-existing racial baseline to diverge from.
