Disturbia (2007)

Disturbia poster

Disturbia (2007)

Overview

Kale has a life most teenagers would envy. He spends his days endlessly playing video games, surfing the net, eating junk food and watching cable. He has complete free reign of the house, and a beautiful young hottie named Ashley has just moved in next door. There’s only one problem—he’s not allowed to leave the house. Kale’s under court-ordered house arrest for three months, and if he takes one step beyond a 100-foot perimeter of the house, his next confinement will be in a real prison.

Detailed Bias Analysis

Center

Primary

The film's core narrative revolves around a suspenseful, apolitical conflict of good versus evil, emphasizing individual initiative and friendship without promoting or critiquing specific political ideologies.

The movie features a largely traditional cast for its main roles, though it includes visible diversity in a prominent supporting character. The narrative maintains a neutral or positive framing of traditional identities, without incorporating explicit DEI themes or critiques. This results in a light presence of DEI characteristics.

Secondary

The film "Disturbia" does not feature any identifiable LGBTQ+ characters or themes. The narrative focuses exclusively on the protagonist's house arrest, his surveillance of a neighbor, and a developing heterosexual romance, with no elements related to queer identity.

The film "Disturbia" does not feature any identifiable transsexual characters or themes. Its narrative focuses on a teenager under house arrest who suspects his neighbor is a serial killer, without incorporating any elements related to transgender identity.

The movie does not contain any action or adventure elements.

Disturbia is an original film, not an adaptation of pre-existing material or a biopic. All characters were created specifically for this movie, meaning there is no prior canonical or historical gender to compare against their on-screen portrayal. Therefore, no gender swaps occur.

Disturbia features original characters created for this film. There is no prior source material, historical record, or previous installment to establish a canonical race for any character, thus precluding a race swap.
