I Can Quit Whenever I Want (2019)

Overview

Pedro, Arturo and Eligio are three college professors who lost their job because of economic crisis. Accidentally they find a solution for all of their problems; a multi-vitamin that allows them to party all night long without any side effects. The three professors will be launched into the world of nightclubs and the shady business, in order to market the merchandise. Of course, it seems that they are not as prepared for it as they thought.

Detailed Bias Analysis

Analyzing...
Center

Primary

The film explores the economic desperation of unemployed, overqualified academics who resort to illegal drug manufacturing. While it critiques the social circumstances leading to their plight, it primarily functions as a dark comedy satirizing their choices and the absurd consequences, without explicitly promoting a specific political ideology or solution.

Based on the available information, the movie features traditional casting and does not appear to critically portray traditional identities or center on explicit DEI themes within its narrative.

Secondary

This film is a remake of the 2014 Italian movie "Smetto quando voglio." Several core characters, including the economist, archaeologist, and literary scholar, who were established as male in the original, are portrayed as female in this adaptation.

The film "I Can Quit Whenever I Want" does not feature any identifiable LGBTQ+ characters or themes within its plot or character development. The narrative focuses on other comedic and dramatic elements, resulting in no specific portrayal of queer identity.

The film 'I Can Quit Whenever I Want' is a Spanish comedy centered on three unemployed professors who start manufacturing a new drug. There are no identifiable transsexual characters or themes present in the narrative, resulting in an N/A determination for its portrayal.

The movie does not contain any action or adventure elements.

The film is a Spanish remake of an Italian film. While character nationalities and ethnicities shift from Italian to Spanish, the broader racial category of the main characters remains consistent (white) across both versions, which does not meet the definition of a race swap.
