Overview

Quentin Dupieux's French absurdist comedy follows two dim-witted friends who discover a giant fly in the trunk of their car and decide to train it. The premise is deliberately ridiculous, and that's the whole point. Politically and ideologically, the film is a blank slate. There are no DEI-driven casting choices, no progressive social commentary, no religious themes, and no political framing of any kind. The story is just two guys and a very large insect. The Leans Traditional label reflects the absence of progressive signals rather than any active traditionalist message. When a film has no agenda whatsoever, the default tends to sit slightly right of center on the scale.
