Old Dogs (2009)

Overview

Charlie and Dan have been best friends and business partners for thirty years; their Manhattan public relations firm is on the verge of a huge business deal with a Japanese company. With two weeks to sew up the contract, Dan gets a surprise: a woman he married on a drunken impulse nearly nine years before (annulled the next day) shows up to tell him he's the father of her twins, now seven, and she'll be in jail for 14 days for a political protest. Dan volunteers to keep the tykes, although he's uptight and clueless. With Charlie's help is there any way they can be dad and uncle, meet the kids' expectations, and still land the account?

Detailed Bias Analysis

Analyzing...
Leans Traditional

Primary

The film's central subject matter of fatherhood and family life is inherently apolitical, and its narrative focuses on universal themes of personal growth and responsibility without engaging in any explicit ideological promotion or critique, leading to a neutral rating.

The movie 'Old Dogs' features a traditional cast without explicit DEI-driven recasting of roles. Its narrative focuses on comedic situations without critically portraying traditional identities or making DEI themes central to its story.

Secondary

The film satirizes a Christian summer camp and its overly zealous director, portraying them as comically exaggerated. This depiction, while played for laughs, reinforces a light negative stereotype of such institutions without offering significant counterbalancing nuance.

The film 'Old Dogs' does not feature any identifiable LGBTQ+ characters or themes within its plot or character development. Consequently, there is no direct portrayal or representation of the LGBTQ+ community to evaluate.

The film "Old Dogs" does not feature any identifiable transsexual characters or themes. Its plot centers on two middle-aged men dealing with sudden parenthood and professional challenges, making the portrayal of transsexual identity not applicable to this movie.

The movie does not contain any action or adventure elements.

Old Dogs is an original film with characters created specifically for this movie. There are no pre-existing canonical or historical characters whose gender could have been altered from source material, previous installments, or real-world history.

Old Dogs (2009) is an original film, not an adaptation of existing source material or based on historical figures. Therefore, no characters had a pre-established race that could be altered.
