Detailed Bias Analysis

Analyzing...
Leans Progressive

Primary

The film's central conflict, a critique of environmental exploitation and resource hoarding by a powerful, corrupt figure, aligns with progressive concerns about unchecked corporate power and ecological balance, leading to a left-leaning rating.

This animated film features animal characters, which makes the direct application of human-centric diversity, equity, and inclusion metrics challenging. The voice cast demonstrates some diversity, but the narrative primarily explores themes of identity, heroism, and environmentalism without explicitly critiquing traditional human identities.

Secondary

Rango does not feature any identifiable LGBTQ+ characters or themes. The narrative and character arcs are entirely devoid of elements pertaining to sexual orientation or gender identity, resulting in a 'N/A' rating for LGBTQ+ portrayal.

Rango does not feature any transsexual characters or themes. The story centers on an anole lizard's adventure in a desert town, with no elements related to gender identity or transition present in its plot or character development.

The film features Beans as the primary female character, who is portrayed as resilient and capable. While she participates in action sequences, her combat actions primarily involve the use of firearms. There are no scenes depicting her or any other female character defeating male opponents in close-quarters physical combat.

Rango is an original animated film featuring characters created specifically for this production. There is no prior source material, historical basis, or previous adaptations from which character genders could have been established and subsequently altered.

Rango is an original animated film featuring anthropomorphic animal characters. There are no pre-existing human characters from source material, history, or previous installments whose race could have been changed.
