Detailed Bias Analysis

Analyzing...
Center

Primary

The film receives a neutral rating because it focuses on apolitical themes of survival, lawlessness, and moral ambiguity in a frontier setting, explicitly avoiding the promotion of a specific political ideology.

The film features a visibly diverse cast, including characters reflecting various social identities and experiences. Its narrative explores themes of marginalization and harsh social realities, including racial dynamics, within a brutal frontier setting.

Secondary

The character Cutthroat Bill, originally established as male in Joe R. Lansdale's novel, is portrayed as female by Juliette Lewis in the film, which constitutes a clear gender swap.

Based on current information, 'The Thicket' does not feature identifiable LGBTQ+ characters or themes. The film's narrative focuses on survival, violence, and power struggles in a Western frontier setting, without notable representation or exploration of LGBTQ+ presence or issues.

Based on available information, 'The Thicket' does not appear to feature identifiable transsexual characters or themes. There is no evidence to suggest any depiction, positive or negative, of the transsexual community within the film's narrative.

The movie does not contain any action or adventure elements.

The film introduces diverse characters, such as Eustace Hollow, to add racial representation within a Western setting. The provided information explicitly states that the film does not engage in race-swapping of characters, but rather includes new diverse characters.
