Primary

The film's dominant themes align with left-leaning values through its central critique of class inequality and the dehumanizing effects of unchecked technological advancement, particularly when it creates a stratified society where the wealthy pursue artificial immortality at the expense of natural human existence.

The movie 'Galaxy Express 999' features a diverse cast of character types common in anime, without engaging in explicit race or gender swaps of roles traditionally associated with Western media. Its narrative focuses on universal themes of humanity and mortality, rather than offering critiques of traditional identities.

Secondary

Galaxy Express 999 does not feature any identifiable LGBTQ+ characters or themes. The narrative primarily focuses on the journey of Tetsuro Hoshino and Maetel, exploring themes of humanity, mortality, and the future, without incorporating queer identities or relationships into its plot or character arcs.
