Detailed Bias Analysis

Analyzing...
Leans Progressive

Primary

The film's central narrative champions Starfleet's progressive ideals of diversity, peaceful cooperation, and anti-authoritarianism as the solution to tyranny and conflict, making its dominant themes align with left-leaning values.

The series features a visibly diverse cast of new alien characters, aligning with the franchise's inclusive ethos. Its narrative focuses on universal themes of teamwork and discovery, without explicitly critiquing traditional identities or centering on explicit DEI-driven narratives.

Secondary

Star Trek: Prodigy features Zero, a non-binary Medusan character, portrayed with dignity, intelligence, and agency as a vital crew member. The show consistently uses they/them pronouns, affirming their identity without making it a source of ridicule or plot-driven misery, resulting in a net positive portrayal.

Star Trek: Prodigy does not include any identifiable transsexual characters or themes within its narrative. The show focuses on a diverse group of alien youths exploring the galaxy, but this specific aspect of identity is not addressed.

The movie does not contain any action or adventure elements.

Star Trek: Prodigy primarily features new, original characters. The main legacy character, Hologram Janeway (and later Admiral Janeway), retains her established female gender from previous Star Trek series. No established characters have their gender changed.

Star Trek: Prodigy introduces a new, original crew whose races were not previously established. Legacy characters like Janeway are depicted consistent with their original portrayals. No established character's race was altered.
