Detailed Bias Analysis

Analyzing...
Center

Primary

The film's central conflict, revolving around the dangers of advanced artificial intelligence and the loss of human agency, does not align with a primary preoccupation of either the mainstream US Left or Right. The narrative functions as a cautionary tale without explicitly promoting a specific political ideology or solution.

The movie features a visibly diverse cast in supporting roles, but these characters are original and not explicit race or gender swaps of traditionally white roles. The narrative centers on a white male protagonist and does not contain explicit critiques of traditional identities or make DEI themes central to its plot.

Secondary

The film "Upgrade" does not feature any identifiable LGBTQ+ characters or themes. Its narrative focuses exclusively on the protagonist's quest for revenge and his symbiotic relationship with an artificial intelligence, with no elements related to queer identity or experiences.

The film "Upgrade" does not feature any identifiable transsexual characters or themes. Its narrative focuses on a man seeking revenge with the aid of an AI implant, without engaging with transgender identity in any capacity.

The film features Detective Cortez as a prominent female character, but her role in action sequences primarily involves the use of firearms and investigative work. There are no scenes where she, or any other female character, engages in and wins close-quarters physical combat against one or more male opponents.

Upgrade is an original film with characters created specifically for its narrative. There is no prior source material, historical basis, or previous installments from which character genders could be established and subsequently altered.

Upgrade is an original film with no prior source material, previous installments, or historical figures. Therefore, no characters existed before this film with an established race to be changed.
