Detailed Bias Analysis

Center

Primary

The film's central subject matter, a supernatural teen drama exploring themes of duty, loyalty, and social hierarchy, lacks a strong inherent political valence. Its narrative focuses on character development and action within a fantasy world, rather than explicitly promoting a specific political ideology.

The movie features a predominantly white main cast, reflecting traditional casting choices without explicit race or gender swaps for traditionally white roles. Its narrative focuses on internal vampire society dynamics and does not critically portray traditional identities, nor does it center explicit DEI themes.

Secondary

The film features Rose Hathaway, a Dhampir, who repeatedly engages in and wins close-quarters physical fights against multiple male Strigoi, utilizing her combat training and a stake.

The film 'Vampire Academy' does not feature any identifiable LGBTQ+ characters or themes within its narrative. The story focuses on its heterosexual protagonists and their relationships, along with the political and social dynamics of the vampire world, without exploring queer identity.

Vampire Academy does not feature any identifiable transsexual characters or themes within its plot or cast. Consequently, there is no portrayal to evaluate, resulting in an N/A rating for its depiction of transsexual individuals.

The 2014 film adaptation of Richelle Mead's "Vampire Academy" novel series maintains the established genders of its main and supporting characters from the source material. No significant characters were portrayed with a different gender than their canonical depiction.

The 2014 film adaptation of "Vampire Academy" cast actors whose races align with the implied or explicit racial descriptions of the characters in Richelle Mead's original novel series. No major character established as one race in the source material was portrayed as a different race in the film.
