Detailed Bias Analysis

Analyzing...
Leans Progressive

Primary

The series weaves supernatural redemption into critiques of unstable employment and housing affordability for Taiwanese youth, portraying AI as a disruptive force amplifying traditional pressures. This subtle alignment with social justice concerns determines its left-leaning orientation.

The series employs a Taiwanese cast for roles aligned with its cultural fantasy premise, presenting neutral representation without explicit recasting of traditional identities. Its story frames the male lead's journey positively amid supernatural conflicts, avoiding direct critiques of conventional norms or emphasis on equity themes.

Secondary

Family elements surface in character backstories, including a protagonist's guilt over his parents' death and a supporting character's experience of parental infidelity tied to supernatural causes, but these remain peripheral to the central fantasy action without clear endorsement of traditional or progressive structures.

Buddhist elements blend with Daoist mythology to form the spiritual framework, depicted through divine interventions and temple rituals that affirm cultural reverence.

The series contains no LGBTQ+ characters or themes, focusing instead on supernatural folklore and divine interventions in the human world.

The series contains no transgender characters or themes, focusing instead on fantasy elements involving spirit mediums and Taoist mythology.

Female characters such as Yeh Tzu and Chen Chi-sha do not engage in victorious direct physical combat against male opponents. Action sequences feature the male lead Han Chieh handling hand-to-hand and supernatural fights, while women provide support or use non-physical methods like sorcery.

Agent from Above adapts Taiwanese novel The Oracle Comes, portraying protagonist Han Chieh and deity San Tai Zi as male, consistent with source material and folklore. Supporting characters like Yeh Tzu and Wu Tien-chi align in gender presentation without alterations.

Agent from Above adapts a Taiwanese novel rooted in local folklore, with characters portrayed by Asian actors consistent with their canonical depictions in the source material.
