Primary

The film's central narrative is a classic moral fable about a boy's personal transformation from cruelty to kindness and responsibility, emphasizing universal virtues like empathy and respect for nature rather than promoting specific political ideologies or critiquing societal structures.

Based on its origins as a classic Swedish children's story, the film is expected to feature traditional casting that reflects its European setting. The narrative focuses on a young boy's adventure and personal growth, without engaging in critical portrayals of traditional identities or incorporating explicit DEI themes.

Secondary

The Wonderful Adventures of Nils is a children's adventure story that does not feature any identifiable LGBTQ+ characters or themes. The narrative focuses on a young boy's transformation and journey through nature, with no elements related to queer identity present in its plot or character arcs.

The animated series "Nils Holgerson" is based on a classic Swedish children's novel. Its storyline focuses on a boy's adventures with a flock of wild geese across Sweden, emphasizing nature, geography, and moral development. There are no transsexual characters or related themes present in the narrative.

The show primarily features animal characters and a young boy. No female characters, human or animal, are depicted engaging in or winning close-quarters physical combat against male opponents.

The 1980-1981 anime adaptation of "The Wonderful Adventures of Nils" faithfully retains the genders of all major characters as established in Selma Lagerlöf's original novel, with no instances of gender swapping.

The 1980-1981 animated series adapts the Swedish novel, depicting its human characters, such as Nils Holgersson, as white, consistent with their original portrayal and setting. No characters established as one race in the source material are portrayed as a different race in the show.
