Detailed Bias Analysis

Analyzing...
Center

Primary

The film's central conflict, the condemnation of unethical human experimentation, lacks a strong inherent political valence. Its narrative champions individual courage and empathy as a solution to personal evil, rather than advocating for specific political ideologies or systemic changes.

The film, a Japanese anime, features a diverse cast of fictional characters whose identities do not directly correspond to real-world racial or gender categories in a way that would involve explicit DEI-driven casting or race/gender swaps of traditionally white roles. The narrative focuses on themes of exploration and survival, without explicitly critiquing or negatively portraying traditional identities.

Secondary

Made in Abyss: Dawn of the Deep Soul does not feature any identifiable LGBTQ+ characters or themes. The narrative focuses on dark fantasy adventure, exploration, and the ethical dilemmas of scientific pursuit, without incorporating elements related to sexual orientation or gender identity.

Made in Abyss: Dawn of the Deep Soul does not feature any identifiable transsexual characters or themes. The story centers on the perilous journey into the Abyss, exploring themes of sacrifice, humanity, and the unknown, without addressing gender identity.

The film features female characters like Riko, Nanachi, and Faputa. Riko and Nanachi are not direct combatants. Faputa possesses immense power as a Narehate, engaging in destructive acts against various entities and Bondrewd. However, her combat style relies on overwhelming monstrous abilities rather than human-like physical skill or martial arts against male opponents.

The film is a direct adaptation of the manga, and all major characters retain their established genders from the source material. No character canonically established as one gender is portrayed as a different gender.

The film is an animated adaptation of a Japanese manga set in a fantasy world. Characters are depicted in a stylized anime aesthetic, where real-world racial categories are not explicitly established or canonically defined in the source material. Thus, no race swap occurs.
